Scale Operator (Full-Time)

Job Summary:

​

The scale operator is responsible for accurately recording inbound and outbound material types and volumes, providing customer service and performing administrative tasks.

​

​

Responsibilities:

​

  • Record material types and volumes entering and exiting the facility

  • Dispatch company trucks delivering to or hauling for customers

  • Complete administrative tasks including ticket filing, daily/weekly reporting, updating relevant spreadsheets as necessary, maintaining organized records, etc.

  • Provide customers with friendly service, addressing questions and directing them on proper material disposal

  • Maintain an open line of communication with the operations team to ensure customers are adhering to the facility rules

  • Answer incoming calls, providing callers with general information or directing them to the appropriate team member

  • Communicate any questions, issues, or concerns to the supervisor immediately for prompt resolution

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area for efficient operations

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Qualifications:

​

  • Experience in a similar or customer service position; 1-3 years preferred

  • Computer proficiency - the use of scale/ticketing software and other business programs including Google Suite (Gmail, Google Sheets, etc.) is required

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration

  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

 

Working Conditions:

​

  • Ability to stand, sit, and operate a computer for extended periods

  • Potential exposure to varying weather conditions

 

Schedule: 

​

  • Regular work week consists of 33 hours per week: Friday-Sunday 6am-5pm

  • Occasional opportunities to work Monday-Thursday 6am-5pm as a shift substitute

​

Salary:

​

  • $16.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience

  • Paid Vacation (1 week) after 1 year of employment
